Obama Announces New Plan to Help Veterans Find Jobs

Last week, President Barack Obama issued three executive orders which will focus on helping veterans find jobs. The plan includes the creation of a "Veteran Gold Card," a downloadable document giving post-9/11 veterans access to case management and counseling at 3,000 Labor Department operated career centers across the United States. As many as 200,000 unemployed veterans may benefit from the creation of this program.

In addition, Obama announced the launch of a Labor Department job search website. The website can match a veteran's military occupation with civilian employment. The website also provides salary and apprenticeship information as well as a job bank with more than 500,000 job listings.
